How to Power Tune Midget and Sprite for Road and Track
Daniel Stapleton
ISBN: 1901295737
Paperback
Review:
I had heard about this book at car shows and the race track. While it was often referred to as a companion to David Vizard's "Tuning The BL A-Series Engine", Stapleton's work stands tall on its own. The book covers many areas, from economy to performance, to drivetrain modifications. Stapleton's writings on the Weber carburettor proved invaluable, particularly his description of proper air intake improvements. While many power tuning books are geared towards track performance, it is clear that Stapleton must use a Sprite/Midget on a daily basis, as many of the modifications are effective, economical modifications that improve the Spridget experience on almost every level. The book is clear and usable to readers at all levels of skill. In all, an excellent additon to any enthusiast's library.
Illustrated MG Buyer's Guide
John Heilig
ISBN: 0760302901
This text provides a good overview of the MG marque across several decades and offers the reader key points on each model. Because the scope is broad, there is not a lot of information on any one model. The system for rating the models is perhaps too simplistic but does provide a very basic foundation. The reader may be best served by accessing this book for general information and then pursuing other texts for detailed information on specific models.
